What I Wore To Fastrack Day

Yesterday was the first day of Jo'burg Fashion Week and before I blog on the actual show and designers, I want to show you what I wore.

I was caught between an LBD, Animal Print Dress and a Gold Sequined Dress. The LBD won, for many reasons - one of them being that it shows off my legs *heek heek*.

What To Wear To Fashion Week?

I wish I knew what to wear tonight, first day of Jo'burg Fashion Week *sigh*. Nevertheless, I am very excited to be going there.

Will update you tomorrow, busy with final touches- preparing interview questions for the designers etc...I'm like a kid in a candy store, well FASHION is my candy store ;-)

53rd Annual Grammy Awards - Red Carpet

Last night, American musicians, who's who's and likers of things LOL were at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. I think the pressure to be different and creative is making a some people to go for distasteful outfits but I'll let you be the judge.

My personal best dressed, Eva Longoria...can this woman glow any more than she already does? She looks amazing.

By Far The WILDEST Valentine's Wish List

Even though I am not a fan of, nor a follower or a believer in Valentines Day, I decided to not be a party popper this year, so I am dedicating a blog to my wildest (no you silly, not THAT kind of wild ;-) ) Valentine's  wishes.

Here goes:

I wish for cleavage, no seriously I do.

I wish for these super sexy satin Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels.

I wish for this red-hot MAC lipstick, oh don't forget to throw in the guts to wear it somewhere other than in my apartment.

I wish for gods of skinny-ness to grant me the supernatural ability to finish ( at one go) a yummy box of chocolates and not put on any weight.

I wish for the Sex and The City wardrobe, ALL of it.! OK, who am I kidding? Let's throw in Gossip Girl's wardrobe (Serena's one to be specific) for a good measure shall we?

I wish for Beyonce's bank balance in my bank account. (Now you see what I meant by "wildest Valentine's wishes" ?)

Lastly, I wish for Iman's 'fat-free' genes. It doesn't matter which Iman it is. The older Iman or Chanel Iman. I'm cool with either, no REALLY I am, I promise ;-)

If wishes were horses I'd mos def ride one to this wild wish list of mine but trust reality to rudely awake a girl to the realization that Valentine's Day will be *just* an ordinary work day for me...Mxm!! Alas, HAPPY VALENTINE'S TO YOU AND YOURS.!

I Don't Do Fashion, I Am Fashion - Coco Chanel

Hi, my name is Koko. Those who know me well call me Miss Chanel and those who really know me call me Coco Chanel LOL. Deep down in my heart I believe I am Coco Chanel's reincarnation *straight face*.

Here is why I believe I'm Coco Chanel's reincarnation:
* She was born on the 19th of August 1883, I was born on the 18th of August
* She had five siblings, I also have 5 siblings ( Can u see where I'm going with this?)
* Even though her birth name was  Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, everyone called her "Coco", I bet most people do not know my other name. I've been called "Koko" before I could even talk.
* She went to a Catholic school, I went to an Anglican school
* She had a passion for fashion and comfort (obviously), need I say more?

Bloggers Are The New Fashion Influencers

Lucky (LuckyMag.com), a New York based online magazine about shopping and style recently had a photo shoot with 7 bloggers whom they have deemed "fashion influencers". They say 'these women inspire millions of others just by getting dressed in the morning.'

These are the 7 hot fashion bloggers. This blog happened to follow some of them way before the Lucky Mag photo shoot, I guess that on its own, confirms that these girls are the "IT".

1. My personal favorite, Kelly Framel. She runs an amazing blog: TheGlamourai.com

2. Nineteen year old vintage dresser Jane Aldridge. Blog SeaOfShoes

3. Street style blogger Tamu McPherson. I must add, her blog AllThePrettyBirds is truly a breathe of fresh air.

4. Rachel Hruska's GuestOfAGuest is a vibrant blog on what people wear at cool parties around New York.

5. Leander Medine, arguably the most interesting blogger runs a blog TheManRepeller on clothes/styles that men hate and women love. Interesting neh

6. Fiona Bryne runs a lifestyle magazine typa blog Naag

7. Bernadette Pascua is artistic at heart. All you need to do is peruse through DecadeDiary, her blog and you will agree with me.

I wonder when South Africa is gonna have something like this, I bet the likes of Milli who runs a blog called MissMillieB, Leza Marias of CapeTownStylist, the ever stylish guy (dont know his name yet) who runs Fashion2o  oh and yours truly of course *heek heek*
